Kathy Ely, a 52 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 11:43 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. A scheduled visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Edinburg.
Ms. Ely was born on June 10, 1961 in Trenton, MO the daughter of James Curtis and Hannah Rosella “Payne” Ely.  She attended the Grundy County Learning Center for nearly 14 years and enjoyed it greatly.  She also participated with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed basketball and bowling.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Mary Ellen Matranga and her husband, Larry of Osceola, IA; and Ella Frost and her husband, Wendel of Cleveland, TN; nieces, Kim Hughes of Clive IA, Carrie Shiflet of Lantana, TX, Angela Fowler of Aiken SC, Linda Akeson of Evans, GA; nephews, Robert Ely of Trenton, MO and Craig Frost of Cleveland, TN; and 3 great nieces; and 3 great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Curtis Lynn Ely; and a sister in law, Juanita Ely.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Grundy County Learning Center, they can be left at or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary, P.O. Box 587, Trenton, MO.

Gene, myself and Marjorie Frost wish to express our deepest sympathy and respect to Kathy's family and let you know that you are all in our prayers. God says children are pure in his eyes and surely Kathy was pure in his eyes and he will have received her in his home above.

It's amazing that no matter how old a parent's child gets they will always be their child. I waited until I had my own to see that for myself. So to lose a child is more than I can imagine..... So please when thing calm down please read Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:3-5. There are so many wonderful things to look forward to and they are all found in your Bible.
