Donna Henderson, a 96 year old resident of Trenton, MO resident passed away at 3:00 am, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
The body is to be cremated under the direction of Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton with no services scheduled. Inurnment will be at a later date at Stoney Point Cemetery in Scraton, AR.
Donna Henderson was born April 20, 1917 in Hagersville, AR, the daughter of Henry and Bessie Ann (Hawkins) Henderson. Donna was a graduate of the Scraton, Arkansas High School and attended Russellville Polytechnic College in AR from 1935-1936 as well as the Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, MO in 1940. Her business career included working for Montgomery Ward in Carrolton, MO, Missouri Power and Light in Mexico, MO and Standard Manufacturing and Insulating Company of Kansas City, MO where she retired in 1983. She spent most of her life in Arkansas and Missouri.
During WWII, Donna was in the Woman’s Army Corps. She served from June 1944 until January 1946 in the Air Transport Command. She completed basic training in Des Moines, IA. Her tour of duty was served at Rosecrans Field in St. Joseph, MO, Grenier Field, NH, and Grarefield Base in Great Falls, MT. After retirement, Donna did volunteer work for the city of Independence, MO, and Blue Springs Hospital in Blue Springs, MO.
