Mrs. Helen Houghton a 100 year resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, passed away at 2:25 PM Monday September 27, 2010 at the nursing home where she had resided since Jul y 31, 2009.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday at the Galt East Cemetery at Galt.
General visitation will begin after 8:30 AM Wednesday at the Resthaven Mortuary. There is no scheduled family visitation planned.

Mrs. Houghton was born on July 15, 1910 in Mercer County west of Harris, MO the daughter of Earl “June” and Erie Hampshire Hardman. She graduated from the Boatman school near Harris. On August 28, 1933 she was married to Cecil Williams at Trenton, MO. He preceded her on January 28, 1958. On February 13, 1961 she was married to Ray Houghton at Gallatin, MO. He preceded her on April 29, 1974. For many years she managed the Central Office at Galt. She moved to make her home in Trenton in 1983.

She was a member of the Galt Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Post 919 Auxiliary in Trenton.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Todd and her husband Frank of Trenton, MO and Barbara Hennigh of Tecumseh, OK; one son, Jerry Williams of Houma, LA; a brother. Arthur Hardman; a sister, Alice Johnson of Green City, MO; 4 grandsons, Randy Todd, Perry Hennigh, Troy Hennigh and Tracy Mulbury; three granddaughters, Diana Chambers, Joy Foster and Trisha Williams; 9 great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Matthew Chambers, Dustin Todd, Tasha, Tracy, Tyler and Travis Mulbury, Jason Montgomery, Daniel Foster, Jeremy, Cody, and Meisha Hennigh, Carmencia Buoy, Tabitha Smith and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a daughter, Cecelia Mulbury; two grandsons, Stevie Mulbury and Casey Hennigh; two son-in-laws, Willie Mulbury and Marvin Hennigh; a granddaughter-in-law, Juanita Todd; a great-grandson, Coleman Todd; three brothers, James, Rex and Calvin Hardman and two sisters, Sylvia and Mary Glidewell.
