Mary Ann Batson, a 70 year old rural Galt, MO resident, passed away at 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the South Evans Cemetery North of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 4 until 5:30 Saturday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Memorial donations are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Tree House and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Mary Ann Batson was born July 30, 1943 in Trenton, MO the daughter of Fay and Bonnie (Welch) Bryant. She grew up in Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School as well as attending Trenton Junior College. On November 1, 1961 she was united in marriage to Jake Batson. She worked for ConAgra-Banquet Foods in Milan, MO retiring in 2002. She also was a Weight Watcher lecturer for many years throughout northwest Missouri. Mary Ann was a member of the Trenton Immanuel Lutheran Church as well as the Grundy County Women’s Democratic Club, United Food Commercial Workers International Union Local 2 as well as an active leader of the Grundy County Near Neighbors 4H Club.
Surviving relatives include her husband Jake of the home, daughter Jeannette Hughes and her husband Bill of Lebanon, MO, son Albert Batson Jr. and his wife Jenny of Trenton, daughter Alice Stepanek and her husband Rick of Easton, MO, a sister Lanah Bagley of Waco, TX, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, a sister Judy Wolff and a daughter Judy Stark.
