Mildred Marie Niccum, a 90 year old resident of Trenton, MO, passed away at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, MO at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, December 21, 2013.  
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Newtown Christian Church in Newtown.  Burial will be in the Newtown Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Open visitation will be Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.  Memorial donations may be made to the Newtown Cemetery and left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Mildred was born in Newtown, MO on January 5, 1923 to John Wesley and Stella Marie (Long) Widner.  On March 8, 1941 she was married to Olin “Harvey” Niccum.  To this union was born one daughter Sharron Kay Delameter.  Mildred and Harvey lived on a farm southwest of Newtown.  They bought a café in Newtown known as Nick’s Café that they ran for 15 years.  After selling the café she worked a several different jobs and upon her retirement they moved to Trenton.  Harvey preceded her in death on December 30, 1992.  On January 2, 1997 she was remarried to Richard Schmitt.  He also preceded her in death on September 29, 2006.  In her free time Mildred enjoyed reading and greatly enjoyed dancing.
Mildred is survived by her daughter Sharron Kay Delameter of Trenton, a grandson Micheal Delameter and his wife Theresa of Kirksville, MO, two great granddaughters Jessica Marie Delameter of Maryville, MO and Laura Ann Delameter of Kirksville, two step sons Jeff Schmitt of Phoenix AZ and Kenny Schmitt of Hamilton, MT, several nieces, nephews and many friends.  She also leaves a very special person that was like a daughter Carolyn Dunlap of Milan.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husbands, a brother William Widner and a sister-in-law Aubrie Widner.

Mildred was such a sweet and wonderful lady! She was a dear, dear friend to my Mother Wilma Bush. She was a part of all our lives for many, many years and I loved her very much! She will be greatly missed! RIP Mildred and your memories will live on forever, but we know you are in Heaven and have no more pain and suffering! Charlene Gueulette

I will miss Mildred so much. I manage the Dollar General. When she would come in she always had a hug for me. I always looked forward seeing her. Such a sweet lady. I will truly miss her. Prayers for her family.
