Venna Thompson, a 96 year old Trenton, Mo resident, passed away at 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, where she had been a patient for 6 days.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 9, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Jamesport Masonic Cemetery.  Open visitation will begin Saturday at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.  Memorial donations are suggested in Lieu of flowers to either the First Baptist Church or the North 65 Senior Center and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
Venna Thompson was born March 8, 1917 in Jamesport, MO to Arthur and Eva (Layson) Chrisop.  On December 20, 1933 she was united in marriage to Wesley F. Thompson in Jamesport, MO.  He preceded her in death July 16, 2003.  Together they farmed their own farm.  Venna was a member of the Baptist Church since age 11 and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years.  She was a member of RSVP, the Pleasant Center Extension Club, the Friendly Circle Club and delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years.
Surviving relatives include her daughter Ruth Scott in Trenton, a sister Betty Langford of Jamesport, six grandchildren; Mark and Adra Scott, Rhonda Prindle, Dana Wells and her husband James, Gina Mitchell, Anna Jo Neese and her husband Dan and Kent Thompson and his wife Anaik, 11 great grandchildren; Rebekah Scott, Carey Scott and his wife Lori, Dustin Scott and his wife Ashley, Kristi Littrell and her husband Matt, Kara Wells and fiancé Mike Lewis, Aja Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Samantha, Sydney, Skye, and Scarlett Thompson, four great great-grandchildren; Tryston, Jude, Ayden and Austyn Scott.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, son Gene C. Thompson, a twin sister Vennas Strine, and infant brother Kenneth Chrisop and a son-in-law J.B. Scott.
