Harold “Gene” Johnson, an 81-year-old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, September 03, 2010 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Trenton Church of the Nazarene.  A visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 Monday evening at Resthaven Mortuary.  Open visitation will begin at 2:00p.m., Sunday.  Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  Memorial donations are suggested to either the Church of the Nazarene or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mr. Johnson was born on January 8, 1929 in Chula, MO the son of Wilbur James and Zinda Leigh Robertson Johnson.  He was married to Polly Craig on April 9, 1950 in Trenton, MO. Mr. Johnson worked as an engineer for the Rock Island Railroad and the Chicago Northwestern retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the Church of Nazarene, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers as well as past long time member of the Elk’s Lodge and the Jaycees.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Polly Johnson of Trenton, MO; a son, David E. Johnson and his wife Nancy of Cameron, MO; a daughter, Linda Crawford and her husband, Randall of Kearney, MO four sisters Helen Runnels of Bakersfield, CA, Beulah Lame of Chillicothe, MO, Mildred Spade of Valajo, CA and Donna Boston of Kirksville, MO, a brother J.W. Johnson of Moline, IL, five granddaughters; Shelli Whitley, Anne Baldwin, Rebecca Crawford, Beth Crawford, and Olivia Crawford, and two great granddaughters Nicole Kosse and Jacey Whitley

Those preceding him in death include his parents and three brothers; Arthur Johnson, Frostie Johnson and Herman Johnson.

I am sorry to hear about Uncle Gene. My father was Gene's younger brother "Cub" Wilbur Herman Johnson. My older brother Bill, just received a call yesterday from our cousin Tense Johnson, that both Frosite and Gene has passed.
