Harold Leroy Perry, a Trenton resident, passed away at 11:35 AM on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Trenton. Burial will follow in the Grundy Center Cemetery east of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m., until services time Monday. Open visitation will begin at noon Sunday at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home. Memorial donations are suggested to First Christian Church, St. Luke’s Hospice, or The Alzheimer’s Association. These may be left or mailed to Whitaker Eads Funeral Home.
Harold Leroy Perry was born July 28, 1921 in Spickard, MO to Richie L. and Edith J. (Roberts) Perry. He graduated from Spickard High School in 1939. He was united in marriage to Mildred L. Hyre on June 14, 1945 at Lawrence, KS. They were married for 68 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the First Christian Church and served as a deacon there. Harold was an electrician and built several homes in Trenton and Spickard, MO. He enjoyed raising hogs, Angus cattle, and angora goats.
Survivors include his wife Milie of Trenton; Daughter Lana Buckridge and husband Randy of Lawson, MO; Sons Rick Perry and wife Janet of Trenton, and Brad Perry and fiancé Kara Donnely of St. Louis, MO., eight grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 step-great grandchild, and 1 great-great grandchild, a brother, Wilbur Perry and his wife Debbie of Trenton, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles and sister-in-law, Alberta Perry, and a son-in-law Michael D. Johnson.
