Gllbert Fitzpatrick, a 100 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 9:03 p.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice Care in Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. Open visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., Monday.
Gilbert Fitzpatrick was born Jan 11, 1910 to Charles Norman and Stella Emily Moody Fitzpatrick at his grandparents’ house in Harris, MO. On December 21, 1929 he was united in marriage to his wife of 72 years Lera Ann Wagner. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2001. Gilbert worked on the farm until 1947 when he began doing construction work. He enjoyed a party this year held in honor of his birthday at the First Assembly of God Church in Trenton.
Surviving relatives include his daughters Dora Gross and her husband Jim of Trenton, Frances Vaughn of Trenton, and son Robert Fitzpatrick and his wife Pat of Boise, ID; a brother, Charles Norman Fitzpatrick Jr. and his wife, Loyce of Raymore, MO as well as 12 grandchildren, Becky Cochran, Randy Allnutt, Ron Gross, Mike Gross, Cheri Schmitt, Julia McIntyre, Cindy DeAngelo, Robert Fitzpatrick, Cathy Richardson, David Fitzpatrick, Judith Chandler, and Jennifer Tirpak and a whole host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include his parents; his wife, Lera; sisters, Eva Houston and Agnes Reynolds; and a brother Calvin Eugene Fitzpatrick.
