Donna Marie Wharton, an 89 year old resident of Trenton, MO, passed away at 6:10 a.m., Thursday September 5, 2013 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2013 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton, MO with visitation scheduled from 6 to 7 Sunday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grundy Center Cemetery east of Trenton. Memorial donations are suggested to either the American Heart Association or the Trenton Alumni Association.
Donna Wharton was born November 23, 1923 in Trenton, MO to Parris Z and Olive M. (Leisure) Armstrong. She Graduated from Trenton High School in 1941 and continued her education by training to become a Flight Service Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration retiring in 1974. Donna was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, loved flying, fishing, traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include Lisa and Chet Gannon, and Cathy Tigert from Trenton; Bob and Valerie Tigert from San Leandro, CA; step daughters Edith Hiatt and Laurel Hillyer of Columbia MO, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her husband, George K. Wharton; her parents, two sisters Lillian Place and Mildred Frazier; brother Lowell Armstrong, step son George K. Wharton II and grandson David Wharton.
