Clifford Commodore Carman, a 70-year-old resident of Trenton, died on April 25, 2013. He had been in failing health for the last several years.
The body was cremated under the direction of Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Hartford Baptist Church with inurnment of cremains in the Hartford Cemetery.
Mr. Carman was born on Dec. 15, 1942 in Hartford, the son of John Thomas and Mabel Hopkins Carman.
He went to school in Hartford and served his country in the Army from January 1961 to July 1964. He was a cross-country truck driver most of his life and often shared his home with children in need. He spent his spare time working with horses and mules and in later years his favorite pastime was a good game of poker with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wick Carman; a son, Craig; five brothers, John and Debbie Carman, Charles and Joan Carman, Tom and Charlotte Carman, James and Alice Carman and Keith Carman; five sisters, Rosetta and Ronald McKim, Lela Bates, Kathy and Darrel Thompson, Joan Nordstrom and Ann and Keith Shore; and numerous nieces, nephews and foster children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Paul, Frank, David and Bill; and a sister, Janet.
