Laura Jane Hockaday, an 80 year old resident of Richmond, MO, passed away at 5:35 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Her body is to be cremated under the direction of Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. Memorial donations are suggested to Wright Memorial Hospice and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Laura Hockaday was born February 17, 1933 in Argyle, MI, to Marvin S. and Clara Pearl (Kitchen) Morgan. She graduated from William Christman High School in Independence in 1953. She was united in marriage to Robert Miller Sr. in December of 1956 and they had two sons prior to divorcing. Mr. Hockaday was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a resident of Shirkey Nursing Home in Richmond, MO from 2000 until 2012.
Surviving relatives include her sons Robert Miller Jr. and Wayne Miller and his wife Gloria of Trenton, MO, a sister Velma Rice of Independence, MO, brothers Stanley and Clarence Morgan of Kansas City, MO, and two grandchildren Derrick Miller of excelsior, MO and Chelsea Miller of Trenton.
Those preceding her in death include her parents and three brothers Elmer “Lucky” Morgan, Calvin Morgan, and Elwin Morgan.
