Thelma (Pilcher) Black, 81, finished her battle with dementia at 1:10 a.m., on January 23, 2013. She was born to Clyde and Flora (Jones) Pilcher on August 24, 1931 and was raised in and around Trenton, MO. Thelma married Lowell Martin Brown and they had two daughters; Terresa (Terrie) and Debra (Debbie). Later in life after her divorce from Lowell, Thelma married Charles Black and they moved to Rogers, AR where she continued to live even after his death for over twenty years. Thelma loved music and driving fast cars. The 1965 Mustang she treasured for many years was her pride and joy. Thelma worked for Hallmark cards for a time and then later J.C. Penney’s from where she retired.
Thelma is survived by on daughter, Terrie and her husband Don and her children Martin and Jennifer. Thelma is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly as well as Charlie’s two sons and two daughters.
Cremation was requested with a memorial service to be held this summer. Thanks to Independence Manor Care Center and Crossroads Hospice for her care.
