Ivan Campbell, a 90 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in the Martin Cemetery North of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 1:00 until service time Saturday. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 Friday morning. Memorial donations are suggested to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Trenton F.F.A.
Mr. Campbell was born April 12, 1922, a son of Dan and Sylvia Cornwell Campbell near Spickard, MO. Ivan joined the U.S. Army, October 18, 1944 and was discharged on Oct. 27, 1946. While serving in the Philippines he received the Combat Infantry Badge and two Bronze Battle Stars. He was a lifelong farmer in the Spickard area. On August 20, 1944 he married Waneta Wise who preceded him in death on April 28, 1985. A son, Rodney Wayne Campbell of St. Joseph, MO died on Dec. 24, 2002. Other survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sharon Campbell of St. Joseph, MO, two granddaughters Carla Burns of Kansas City, MO and Susan Jayne Seever and husband Kirk of Atchison, KS, two great-granddaughters April Burns and Kaitlin Seever and great grandson, Dustin Seever, a sister in law Jo Wise Veatch of Carrolton, MO and a cousin Judy Cornwell Bernard.
On February 14, 1987, he married Helen Davis Jackson who survives in Trenton. Also surviving are step daughters and family, Linda McCullough and husband Dale of Gladstone; Mary Koehn and husband Bob of Longville, LA and Donna Sue Jackson of Trenton. Four step grandsons; Barry (wife Anita), Mark (wife Stephanie) and Chris (wife Michelle) McCullough of Gladstone and Jeff Koehn (wife Lena) of Maurice, LA, two step-granddaughters Kristen Koehn of Lake Charles, LA and Amy Koehn of Anchorage, AK, 5 Step great granddaughters of the Kansas City Area; Rene and Leah McCullough, Abby and Marissa Hernandez and Megan and husband, Jason Shore. Also 3 step, great grandsons, Kaleb, Kole and Keaton Hummel of Kansas City and Sam Koehn of Maurice, LA, great great-granddaughter Scarlet Shore of Kansas City.
