Beulah Sharon Nelson, a 69 year resident of Independence, formerly of Trenton, passed away at 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the K.U. Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. A scheduled visitation will be held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson was born on September 29, 1943 in Trenton, MO the daughter of John and Beulah (Ralston) Adams. She was married to Larry Whitt. She was a member of the First Assembly Of God.

She is survived by a son, Nevin Whitt of Independence, MO; a daughter, Cherri Whitt-Baldwin and her husband, Scott of Blue Springs, MO; 2 brothers, Ray Adams and his wife, Barbara of Trenton, MO and Tommy Adams and his wife, Luella of Columbia, MO; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Baldwin, Nathan Baldwin, and Ethan Baldwin; also surviving is her dog, Tibit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 infant sisters; and an aunt, Leda Adams.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association; they can be left at or mailed to Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, 813 Custer, Trenton, MO 64683.

My sympathies to Sharon's family. We shared many wonderful growing up times all through school. I was part of her wedding which Rev. Tommy performed. My family has thought about her and wished we could have been in touch over the past 50 years. Blessings to all her family and friends from THS Class of 1962.
