I met Leonard not long after I moved to Trenton in 1978. He would be at Adams Jr. High after school visiting with all us kids and, of course, asking for pictures. He always had a smile on his face & a quick hello to everyone. He was very quick witted & could rhyme anything. I will truly miss seeing him walking the streets of Trenton. If I had to say something that best described Trenton, it would be Leonard Lame. He was truly an angel among us & will be missed by many. He touched so many lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and many friends of Leonard as we all, collectively, mourn his passing. I can not think of anyone that Leonard didn't think of as a friend, nor anyone that didn't think of him that way either. He was a sweet and gentle soul that never showed malice towards others and blessed each one of us, and the community, with his time, his presence and his friendship his whole life. We all have lost an old friend and we mourn with you.

Leonard has been such a fixture in Trenton, he will greatly missed. I ran track in high school and "my rhyme" was LeAnn Brown fastest girl in town. He never missed a track meet in Trenton that I attended and he never missed telling me his rhyme. RIP Leonard.

Everyone from Trenton loves Leonard!! I remember him coming into the Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce daily to pick up a map. At one point, we ran out of maps but thankfully found some more so that we could supply Leonard with maps. We found out that he was distributing them to other businesses. He was so much fun to visit with. I loved his kind, gentle, and happy spirit. Leonard will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

So sad! Leonard was a pleasure to be around. I have known him most of my life, as we shared an aunt. He will be missed. He was fun to talk to. I will always remember when he would make a rhyme, then say that was a good one wasn''''t it, and it was!

What a privilege it was to have known Leonard. He was one of the first classmates I met at Central Jr. High. I immediately got my rhyme...Linda Linda jumped out the window. Even after not seeing each other for years at a time, Leonard always rewarded me with one of those smiles when we would meet again, usually at church. We should all be so fortunate to have so many call us friend. Rest in peace.
