Andrew "Andy" Johnson, a 71 year old Trenton, MO resident passed away at 5:54 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO.
A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. A rosary is scheduled at 6:30 Wednesday evening at the church with a visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Memorial donation may be made to the donor’s choice and may be left with or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary.
Andrew Edison Johnson, was born December 23, 1940 in Oconomowoc, WI to Andrew and Earla (Suprise) Johnson. He graduated from Humphreys High School in 1958. From 1958 to 1962 he served in the United States Navy. On February 23, 1963 he was united in marriage to Leah Haggy in Kirksville, MO. In 1997 he retired from Trenton Foods where he had worked for 35 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was a past R-6 school board member.
Surviving relatives include his wife Leah of the home, four children, Derlin Johnson and his wife Mary Ellen of Trenton, Andrea Steinhoff of Trenton, Melinda Copeland of Shawnee, KS, and Matt Johnson of St. Joseph, MO, two sisters Hazel Lewis and her husband John of Liberty, MO and Kathy Berg of Phoenix, AZ, and eleven grandchildren, Levi and Latorrie Johnson, Trent (Rebecca), Camie and Magie Steinhoff, William “Acel”, Julien, Meah and Isabel Copeland, and Mattea and October Johnson.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, a brother Norman Lee Johnson and a son-in-law Mark Copeland.

Jr. was strong, dependable, always caring for his family, and could always count on him to help through anything. He loved his family with great passion and especially those grandchildren with such pride. He will be missed by many.
With great sadness we say good - bye to cousin and friend. May he now rest in peace and have no more pain.
