Eva Corrine Watson, a 93 year old Trenton residence and former Galt resident, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on September 22, 2012 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for 3 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. The body will be cremated following the services. A scheduled visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Watson was born on July 6, 1919 at Humphreys, MO the daughter of Ray and Pearl (Hoge) Ogan. She was married to Woodrow Watson on December 22, 1939. They were married 70 years. She was a graduate of Humphreys High School and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She taught school for the Edinburg, Trenton R-9, and Grundy R-5 School districts. She was a member of the Trenton First Christian Church, serving as Sunday school teacher and choir member. Music was a big part of Eva’s life. She played piano and later on organ for various churches throughout the area and was the organist for more than 200 funerals over the last 30 years.
Mrs. Watson is survived by her son, Woody Watson and his wife, Penny of Tahlequah, OK; a sister, Alta Peters of Applegate, CA; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Watson and his wife, Kristene of Tahlequah, OK, Jeff Watson and his wife, Cecilia of Olive Branch, MS, Eric Watson and his wife, Mynna of San Antonio, TX, Cynthia McDougald and her husband, Charles of Broken Arrow, OK, and Ellie Watson of Austin, TX; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow; a son, Jim, and two sisters Hazel Peters and Luella Hill.
