Jerry Anderson, a 62 year old Newtown, MO resident, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 03, 2012 at his home where he was under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Newtown Christian Church.  Bro. Denny Daum will officiate.  A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church in Newtown.  Payne Funeral Home of Galt is handling services.

Mr. Anderson was born on September 5, 1949 in Lucerne, MO the son of Wes and Beulah (Stark) Anderson.  He graduated from Newtown High School and was a life long resident of the Lucerne and Newtown communities.  He worked for Herschal and Jack Cooley since 1967.  He attended the Newtown Christian Church and was a member of the Newtown Lions Club.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Betty Anderson of the home; a daughter, Debbie Curry of Bellingham, WA; two grandsons, Dillon and Dakota; and one brother, Joe Anderson of Milan, MO.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Anderson and a sister, Mary Ann Anderson.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Newtown Christian Church or the American Cancer Society; they can be left at the church.

Betty, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. When I think of Jerry I always think of his smile. He was always so happy and had a good word and did love to tease my two nieces. Remember the good times you had together. Please let me know if I can be of help.
