June Johnson a 77 year old former Chillicothe resident, passed away at 6:05 AM Saturday April 28, 2012 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

A scheduled visitation will be held from 1 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Payne Funeral Home of Galt with a graveside service to follow at the Campground Cemetery, east of Osgood.  No open visitation is scheduled.  Bro Gary Watkins will officiate.

Ms Johnson was born in Seymour, IA on June 22, 1934 the daughter of Warner and Corda (Johnson) Brown.  She graduated from Galt High School in 1953.  After graduation she worked for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City and Gibson’s, Benson’s Hobby Shop and S Bar S Western Store all in Chillicothe, MO and retired after working at Hedrick Medical Center in the dietary department.  On June 17, 1954 she married Kent Johnson, they had one son, Steven Kent.  They were later divorced, but stayed very good friends.  She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and had met her first great grandson a week before she passed away.  She enjoyed reading and watching the Nascar races on t.v.  She was very famous for her deviled eggs and potato salad.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by a son Steve (Angela) Johnson of Galt, MO; three brothers, Robert (Carolyn) Brown of Trenton, MO and Pat (Libby) Brown of Holt, MO and Roger (Wilma) Brown of Lees Summit, MO; three grandchildren, Brandon, Haley and Macey Johnson and by a great-grandson, Braydon Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carol Mac Brown.

Memorials can be left to Payne Funeral Home for funeral expenses.

Steve so sorry to hear about your mother she meant alot to our family I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers
