Charles E. Collins an 85 year old resident of Chillicothe, MO, passed away at 8:13 AM Saturday April 14, 2012 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton. Contributions have been suggested to be left to the American Lung Association. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O.Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683. There is no visitation.
Mr. Collins was born on November 9, 1926 at Harris, MO the son of Charles Arthur and Effie Lela Miller Collins. He attended the Colfax school and graduated from the Newtown High School. He was a Sgt in the United States Army from July 28, 1945 until his discharge on January 5, 1947. After his discharge he returned to Harris where he farmed .On December 14, 1954 he was married to Twila Mae Boyer at Independence, MO. They moved to Independence where he was employed at Armco Steel until 1959. He then worked at Western Electric and they moved to Lees Summit in 1961. He then worked for AT&T until he retired in October 1985. They moved to Trenton to make their home in May 2002 and later moved to Chillicothe, MO.
He has been a member of the Newtown Christian Chruch since 1945.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Twila Collins of the home in Chillicothe, MO. and by cousins.
