Paul Allen, an 86 year old resident of Trenton, MO passed away early Monday morning December 5, 2011 at the Bishop Spencer Place in Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at the Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.
Military rites will follow and burial will be at a later time in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton. There is no visitation. Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to St. Luke’s Foundation. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O.Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
Mr. Allen was born on November 25, 1925 at Trenton, MO the son of James Everett and Edith Ham Allen. He was raised in Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School in 1943. He joined the United States Navy and served during WWII from 1943 until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. He returned to Trenton where he was married to Mary Sue Leonard on October 6, 1946 in Wichita, KS. After their marriage they lived in Trenton until 1950 when they moved to California. He was the manager of a machine shop and worked at Douglas Air Craft before working for the Tustin School District. They returned to Trenton in 1963 where he sold cars for McVay Motors and then worked at Witten Implement in sales and parts. He then carried the rural mail for several years until he retired in 1987. After they retired they would spent their time in Arizona and California until returning to Trenton to make their home full time in 2003. Paul enjoyed playing golf, traveling with Sue and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He belonged to the Wesley United Methodist Church, and Major Dale Stepp Post # 31 American Legion.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Sue Allen of Trenton, MO; two sons, Steve Allen and his companion, Stacy of Fargo, ND and Scott and his wife, Brenda Allen of Westlake Village, CA; a brother, Bob Allen of Trenton, MO; a sister, Donna Graham of Trenton, MO; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Don and James Junior Allen and 4 sisters, Lois Stotts, Ruby Fitzpatrick, Lorraine Provance and Wanda Robinson.
