Rex Michael, an 84 year old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home, passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Galt Christian Church in Galt, MO. Burial will follow in the Half Rock Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 7 Sunday evening at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton, MO. Memorial donations are suggested to the Sho-Me Christian Home Galt Unit.
Rex Jean Michael was born March 12, 1927 west of Newtown, MO to Clifford Barnes and Estella Grace Overstreet Michael. He graduated from Newtown-Harris High School in 1945. On December 27, 1948 he was united in marriage to Wilma Fern Hardman in Princeton, MO. After their marriage they moved to Sacramento, CA. In 1956 they moved back to the Newtown-Harris area and then to Trenton, MO in 1969. From July 18, 1945 until September 24, 1951 he served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force.
Mr. Michael is survived by a wife, Wilma Michael of Galt, MO; two sons, George Michael and his wife, Teresa of Galt, MO and David Michael and his wife, Trish of Trenton, MO; three daughters, Betty Moore and her husband, Donnie of Trenton, MO, Elaine Loghry and her husband, Tom of Galt, MO, and Jackie Pangburn of Corodyn, IA; a sister, Willa Dean Barr and her husband, Bill of Kansas City, MO; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, step mother Hildred Barnett Michael and an 8 year old son Jerry Wayne Michael.
