Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the First Assembly Of God in Trenton.  A scheduled visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Trenton.  Open visitation will begin after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home.

Mr. Gannon was born on March 7, 1927 in Trenton, MO the son of Francis and Enna Cooksey.  He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He was married to Mildred Ruth Kincaid on January 8, 1951, she preceded him in death on July of 1988, he was later married to Kay Carter Babb on May, 23, 1998.  He was a self employed lock smith in Trenton for many years.  He was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church and the American Legion Major Dale Stepp Post 31.

Mr. Gannon is survived by his wife Kay Gannon of the home; sons, James Paul Gannon Jr. of Oak Grove, MO, Mark Gannon of Plattsburg, MO, and Gary Gannon of Lathrop, MO; daughters, Roberta Harkins and her husband, David of Coffeyville, KS, Sharon Gannon of Trenton, MO, and Kay Howell of Westby, WI; a step son, Phillip Richard Babb and his wife, Dawn of Homewood, IL; step daughters, Cynthia Caldwell and her husband, Steve of Trenton, MO and Jo Ellen Maxey and her husband, Richard of Manassas, VA; a brother, Glenn David Gannon of San Diego, CA; sisters, Deloris Rosenboom of Gresham, OR and Clara Stalcup of Wichita, KS; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Assembly Of God Building Fund, they can be left at or mailed to Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, 813 Custer, Trenton, MO  64683.

GrandPaul,

I can't express to you how much of a blessing you were to our Nonnie, you were such a loving person to our family and always brought such love and smiles to our family. We can't tell you how much we will miss you but we can tell you how much you were loved, how much you are missed and how much joy you brought to Nonnie. We love and already miss you as our GrandPaul. God Bless you and your family.
