Susan Provance, a lifelong resident of Trenton, MO, passed away at 60 years of age on the morning of Friday, July 1, 2011 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton.  Rev Robert Nelson will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Alta Vista Cemetery in Weatherby, MO. A scheduled visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Trenton First Baptist Church.
Ms. Provance was born on October 12, 1950 in Trenton the daughter of Gilson Provance and Asta Sigurdottir-Provance. She was very proud of her Icelandic heritage.
Ms. Provance graduated from Trenton High School and Truman State University. She taught kindergarten for 37 years in Trenton. She was a member of the Trenton Acting Guild and Friends Of The Arts. She was honored as the grand marshal of the Missouri Day parade in 2009.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Kyle Parkhurst of Gallatin, MO; a niece, Sarah German and her husband, Bart of Trimble, MO; a great niece, Roslyn; and a great nephew, Marcus. She was preceded in death by her mother, Asta; and a sister, Loa Parkhurst.
