James Ellis, a 73 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.  A visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 Friday evening at the funeral home.  The family requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.

James D. Ellis was born December 3, 1937 in Trenton, MO to Bryant and Myrtle Hobbs Ellis.  On January 6, 1969 he was united in marriage to Janice Reim in Trenton.  For 39 years James was employed with Trenton Foods and he was a member of the 10th Street Baptist Church.  In his past time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden.

Surviving relatives include his wife Janice of Trenton, a daughter Melissa Garbo of Parkville, MO, brothers Russell and George Ellis of Trenton, sisters, Mary Lou Ellis of Trenton and JoAnn Sawyer of Independence, MO and two grandchildren Brian and Noel Loyall of Parkville, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
