Duane Charles Mitts, an 81 year old resident of Tindall, MO passed away at5:45 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Maryville, MO.
The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Resthaven mortuary of Trenton. Tim Munday will officiate. Memorial contributions can be left to the donor’s choice.
Duane Mitts was born March 24, 1930 in Story City, IA to Clarence Emery and Ester Jeanette Ness Mitts. He served in the Korean War with the United States Air Force from 1948 to 1950. On August 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to Rosareah Ruth Ellis in Clayton, NM. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2000. Mr. Mitts worked for many years as a yard manager for Lakeview Lumber Mill in Lakeview. OR and as a volunteer for the Lakeview, E.M.T. for 18 years. He was a member of the Elk’s and Eagle lodges as well as the Trenton Ham Operator Club.
Surviving relatives include his daughter Carol Ruiz of Princeton, MO a sister Marjorie Hooker of Griggsdille, IL, a daughter-in-law Kelly Mitta of Rainer, OR, three grandchildren Nicole McConnell of Princeton, MO, Lindsey Smith of Deer Island, OR, and Randy Mitts of Springfield, OR, and seven great grandchildren.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, wife, and sons Gary and Doyle Mitts.
