Mrs. Maurine Toney, a 95 year old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, passed away at 2:25 pm Saturday March 5, 2011 at the nursing home where she had resided since May 11, 1998.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Edinburg Baptist Church in Edinburg, MO. A scheduled visitation is planned for one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery.  She was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Toney was born on April 25, 1915 in Jefferson City, MO the daughter of John  Hardie and Madeline Jennings Dillinger.  At the age of 5 she moved to Cora, MO with her parents and she attended Cora and Milan schools. She graduated from high school at Keokuk, IA. She was married to Frank Selvey. After his death she was married to Cecil Toney on June 13, 1976 at Downing, MO.  He preceded her in death in 1996.  She lived several years in Ft. Smith, AR before moving to Trenton in 1971, then moved to Downing, MO and lived there before moving back to Trenton in 1993.  Mrs. Toney was a tutor and class room assistant at NCMC.

She was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church.

Mrs. Toney is survived by a sister, Wanda (Charles) Long of Edinburg, MO and by two nieces, Pam (Lenny) White and Rhonda (Anthony) Dickinson both of Edinburg, MO.
