Music by The Piano Brothers

The world lost a ray of sunshine on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.  Timothy Ray Gentry, a 63-year-old resident of Trenton, MO, passed away at home while under hospice care due to a recent liver cancer diagnosis.
Tim was born January 19, 1955 in Trenton, MO to Delbert Ray and Betty (Crawford) Gentry.  He graduated from Trenton High School with the Class of 1973.  For more than 40 years, he resided in St. Joseph, MO, before moving to Columbia, and then back to Trenton.   He was a member of the First Christian Church in Trenton.
Much of Tim’s earthly life was quite difficult following a mental health diagnosis a short time after finishing high school.  In spite of this, he was still able to experience kindness, love, and laughter, and returned those attributes threefold to nearly everyone he met.  Tim had a huge heart of gold.  It was so big that removing it would have likely resulted in him weighing about three pounds.  He was a selfless individual, always putting the wants and needs of others before his own.  He was the happiest when he could give to or help someone else.
Tim loved his family, life on the farm, reminiscing, and music from the 60’s and 70’s.  He could always be counted on to bring us some much needed comic relief in his own unique, Tim way.  He looked forward to seeing his Dad, sister, and other loved ones again one day in heaven.  We take great comfort in imagining that reunion, and in knowing he will be spending eternity with Jesus…free of all pain!
Survivors include his mother, Betty, of the home, a daughter, Marcia Kempton and husband (Tim) of Trenton, MO, two sisters, Karen Saul and husband (Melvin) of Trenton, MO, and DeAnna Gentry of Columbia, MO, a brother-in-law, Scott Allen of West Lake Village, CA, three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his father and a sister, Brenda Allen.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
In memory of Tim, reach out to someone in need, hold a loved one, or cherish a memory.  He would have loved that.
Rock on, Tim.  We love you forever.
