Carson Sterling, a 93 year old resident of Laredo, passed away at 10:20 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
His body is to be cremated under the direction of Whitaker Eads Funeral Home of Trenton with memorial services at a later date.
Carson Randel Sterling was born January 19, 1925 near Milan, MO to Robert Edgar and Lydia Ermel (Brown) Sterling. On June 4, 1947 he was united in marriage to Cleta McDonald in Pollock, MO. Together they farmed around Osgood, Humphreys and Laredo. They enjoyed traveling both home and abroad. They were avid motorcyclists and traveled through all 50 states with 34 of those states being on their Harley and Gold Wing bikes. After retiring in 2000 they moved into Laredo. Carson was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church and the Gold Wing Road Riders. Carson also loved to play the guitar and would play and sing long after everyone went to bed at night. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and never met a stranger.
Surviving relatives include his wife Cleta of the home, son Steve Sterling and wife Vicki of Clarksdale, MO, daughter Cathy Bowe and husband Ken of Laredo, sister Darlene Glidewell of Camdenton, MO, four grandchildren Gina Lynn Sterling, Craig Randel Sterling and wife Dana, Amanda Kim Terhune and husband Scott, and Keith Randal Bowe and wife Karla, and five great grandchildren Mackenzie Sue Terhune, Dakota Carson Terhune, Alexis Brooke Bowe, Ethan Randal Bowe and Emily Grace Bowe.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, brothers Quinten and Edward Sterling and sister Iris Glidewell.
