Daryl Browning, a 98 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 3:45 a.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his residence where he was under hospice care.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. A visitation is scheduled from 9:00 until service time Friday. Memorial donations are suggested to First Baptist Church for the transit van fund and may be left with or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.
Robert Daryl Browning was born June 7, 1919 in Spickard, MO to Homer C. and Myrtle Anna (Tharp) Browning. From November 7, 1942 until January 6, 1946 he was enlisted with the United States Army, where he served with the John Deer Battalion during WWII. On April 3, 1949 he was united in marriage to Elsie Mae Patterson in Kansas City, MO. Daryl was a partner in Homer Browning & Son Construction for 37 years. After retiring he enjoyed building and selling many different crafts. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. He also served on the board for The Baptist Home, was a Rotarian where he received the Paul Harris Fellow award and served as treasurer for the Grundy County Museum.
Surviving relatives include his wife Elsie Mae of the home, daughters Maeanne Browning of Trenton, Daphne McClure and husband Jon of Kansas City, MO and Denise Dodd and husband Craig of Parkville, MO, grandchildren Brianne Shankman and husband Matthew of New York, NY and Brian McClure and wife Megan of Overland Park, KS, and great grandson Hudson McClure. He was preceded in death by his parents.
