Georgia Schilling, a 73 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 1:16 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Trenton. Burial will follow in the Catholic Cemetery in Trenton. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton with a visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Open visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic Church and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
Georgia was born August 3, 1943 In Keokuk, IA. She was the daughter of George and Bessie (Hayden) Schreck. In 1964 Georgia graduated college as a registered nurse from Dayton, OH. Georgia was united in marriage to Max Schilling on September 25, 1965 in Wayland, MO. Together they had four children. The family moved to their farm southwest of Trenton, in 1976. While raising her family she continued her education and received her Bachelor degree in nursing from Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, MO and received her Master’s degree in Education from Truman University. Georgia worked as a nurse in health care for 40 plus years where she has touched so many lives. Georgia had a heart of gold. Unbeknownst to her, she was known to her family as Saint Georgie. Her faith was very strong. Georgia was never afraid of hard work whether in her career or at home. Georgia loved traveling and playing with her family. She enjoyed flowers (whenever they were able to grow due to her kids or the cattle tromping on them), wildlife, scenic drives, cards and time spent with her ornery husband Max. She was also a captain in the Army Reserves.
Immediate family members include: Sons, Shawn and wife Lisa, Douglas and wife Marie and Kevin Schilling, daughter Sherry and husband Joe Searcy, sister, Kathy Stark, grandchildren Maddie, Cole, Sam, Luke, Malachi and Mikayla.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, and a sister Barbara Martin.
