Ronald Persell, an 89 year old resident of Trenton, MO, passed away at 8:50 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Cameron V.A. Home in Cameron, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. There will be a visitation from 6 until 7 Friday evening at the funeral home. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Friday.
Ronald Lewis Persell was born February 22, 1928 in Trenton, MO to Guy and Addie (Cooper) Persell. In 1954 he was united in marriage to Willa I. Ferris in Trenton. Ron served in the United States army from 1945 until 1968. His service included WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Ron was also a proud member of Joseph L. Norton Post 919 V.F.W., and served on their military honor’s team for many years. For the last number of years due to their ailing health, their niece Judy Stubbs has been helping take care of them.
Surviving relatives include his step son Gerald Moore of Grain Valley, MO, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many cousin, nieces and nephews.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, wife, step sons Garland Moore and Donald Moore, brothers Franklin D. Persell and Herschel Dean Persell, and a sister Loveta Jean Stubbs.
