Deborah Sue Robinson, 68, of Trenton, MO left this earthly home and went to be with her Heavenly Father while surrounded by her loving family on June 8, 2017 after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Newtown Christian Church in Newtown, MO. A scheduled visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Church on Sunday. Burial will be in the Newtown Cemetery.
Debbie was born on August 30, 1948 to Bob M. Robinson and Virginia Robinson. As a teenager, Debbie accepted Christ and was baptized placing her membership at Newtown Christian Church. She attended Newtown-Harris School where she graduated in 1966. After graduation, Debbie attended 1 ½ years of college at Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) before entering the workforce. In 1969, Debbie began her career at Halls, a division of Hallmark cards. She retired in 2011 after 42 years of dedicated service.
After retirement, Debbie desired to return to north Missouri to be closer to family, so she moved to Trenton in 2014.
Debbie was devoted to her family and friends. She had a special bond with her two nieces, Ashley and Jaimie. While the girls were growing up, Debbie rarely missed a sporting event or activity. As the girls grew older, Debbie maintained a close relationship with each of them.
Debbie was blessed to be able to continue to enjoy activities such as gardening, canning, cooking and shopping with her mom, Virginia.
Debbie enjoyed watching the Missouri Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals but her true passion was watching her brother, Rod, compete in team roping. Debbie spent hours with family and friends traveling to watch Rod and other friends compete in the sport she loved. Debbie was Rod’s biggest fan.
She served on the North Kansas City Public Library Board, was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and volunteered at the 65 Senior Center in Trenton.
Debbie is survived by her mother, Virginia Robinson, brother Rod (Polly) Robinson, two nieces Ashley and Jaimie Robinson, her Aunt Mildred Robinson, numerous cousins and a multitude of friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bob M. Robinson, her paternal grandparents Howard and Cleo Robinson and maternal grandparents Fred and Angie Egelston.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the North 65 Senior Center or the Newtown Cemetery; they can be mailed to Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home, 813 Custer, Trenton, MO 64683.
