Harry A. Danks, a 92 year old resident of Trenton and former Galt resident, passed away on May 30, 2017 at St. Lukes North in Kansas City, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Rural Dale Baptist Church, east of Trenton. Burial will be in Rural Dale Cemetery. Open visitation will be all day Saturday and Sunday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. A family visitation will be held at Rural Dale Baptist Church following graveside on Monday.
Mr. Danks was born on November 1, 1924 in Faribault County, MN the son of Oscar and Agnes (Taylor) Danks. He attended county school and graduated in May 1942 from the Wells High School at Wells, MN. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and was discharged in May 1946, during these years he met and married May Helen Crutcher in Memphis, TN, they were married on December 23, 1945 in Memphis, this marriage was blessed for 71 years. Harry and Helen bought a farm home in the Galt area in 1955 and raised livestock.
Mr. Danks was a past member of the Galt School Board and Galt Lions Club. He is a present member of Rural Dale Baptist Church, where he had served as Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Danks of Trenton, MO; two sons, Larry Danks and his wife, Mary Pat of Kerrville, TX and John Danks of Trenton, MO; two sisters, Norma Paulson of Northfield, MN and Marie Patton of Los Angeles, CA; a brother, Leo Danks of Easton, MN; three grandchildren, Adam Danks of Phoenix, AZ, Jacob Danks and his wife, Shelby of Flower Mound, TX, and Diane Copeman and her husband, Wade of Kerrville, TX; seven great grandchildren; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Danks; and an infant brother.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Rural Dale Baptist Church Building Fund.
