Ferril Hagan, a 98 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Convalescent Care Center in Excelsior Springs, MO where he had been under hospice care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. A scheduled family visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Open viewing will be Saturday afternoon . Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hagan was born on September 1, 1918 in Mercer County, MO the son of James Stuart and Bessie Mable (Mark) Hagan. He attended the Center School at Saline, MO. He was married to Lois Annibel Kirkpatrick on August 12, 1939.
He was a member of the Bethel and Hatton Chapel Methodist Churches. He farmed in Mercer County until 1944 when he and Annibel moved to the Forks of the River, they lived on the family farm until 1975 before moving north of Trenton. He became a private pilot in 1968 along with his son, Robert. Farming and travel were his interest. A 1989 trip to Russia became his favorite trip. As a member of MFA, Ferril made two trips with other area farmers to Washington DC to protest against dams on Grand River Basin and marketing.
Survivors include his wife, Annibel Hagan of Excelsior Springs, MO; daughter, Diana Scott and her husband, Alan of Kearney, MO; 3 grandchildren, Lori Ann Jarrett and her husband, Jeff, Stephanie Lynn Wachob and her husband, John, and Timothy Ray Scott; and 6 great grandchildren, Josh and Elizabeth Jarrett, Alexis, Laura, and Nikki Hagan, and Eli Christian Wachob; a sister in law, Louise Hagan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters, Cecil and his wife, Lenora, Irma Dunn and her husband, Leo, Lois Dunn and her husband, Clell, Mervil Hagan and his wife, Veta, Avis Larason and her husband, Lloyd, Hubert Hagan and his wife, Elaine, Faye Kindred and her husband, Clarence, Lloyd Hagan and his wife, Mildred, and Carl Hagan; and his son, Robert.
