Charles Richard Balcom of the Galt Laredo, Mo area, passed away at Hedrick Medical Center on July 27, 2016 at the age of 72.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 Monday, August 1, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton, MO.  Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.  A visitation is scheduled from 4 until 5 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.  Open visitation begins at noon on Sunday.
He was born in Kansas City, MO to James Otto Balcom and Juanita Gertrude Riggs Balcom on July 10, 1944. He served in the US Air Force. He worked for the Kansas City Terminal Railroad mail and baggage unit followed by working at Kenworth Dart “Paccar” in KCMO. After moving to our area in 1988 he worked for PSF for 21 years.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette of the home, mother Juanita Balcom, Raytown, Sister Cindy (Richard) Prowell of Raytown, Brothers Steve (Karen) Balcom, Lamar, Jon (Sharon) Balcom Pacific Grove, CA, Dan and Balcom Grandview, Mo, Children Kimberly (Brent) Beets Raytown, Theresa Mellon Lees Summit, MO Christine Larkin Leavenworth, Grandchildren, Logan, Trever, Courtney, Hanna, Heather and Sarah and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by father James Otto Balcom and brother Ronald Balcom.
