Edmon Dockery, an 83 year old of Trenton, MO passed away at his residence on Monday, May 30, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Open visitation and viewing will be all day Friday. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton following military graveside rites.
Mr. Dockery was born on October 12, 1932 in Trenton, MO the son of Lawrence H. and Gertie F. (Rosson) Dockery. He was married to Karen Hathaway Steele on August 11, 1961 in Trenton, MO; she preceded him in death on December 26, 2007. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He returned back to Trenton where he worked for McCarty Truck lines for 27 ½ years. He was a longtime and committed member of the Teamsters Union, he was a member of the First Christian Church, Elks Lodge #801, and American Legion Post #31.
Mr. Dockery is survived by step sons, Michael Steele of Kansas City, MO and Don Steele of Trenton, MO; a sister, Donna Ruth Noe of Turner, KS; nieces Doris Dockery Breitenstein and Lynda Dockery Sylvester; 3 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Laverne Dockery.
