Lonna Sue Hanes Townsend passed away in her home in Silex, MO, on March 29th, 2016.

Lonna was born May 14, 1965 in Trenton, MO to Gary G. Hanes and Carolyn Byrd.  She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School.  For many years she worked as a caregiver for nursing homes and was successful in selling Clinique cosmetics. Lonna was a member of Coon Creek Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gary Hanes of Trenton MO. She is survived by loving fiancé Butch Harget of the home, mothers Carolyn Byrd and LeJean Hanes, brothers Gary D. Hanes and wife, Laura Hanes, Troy Hanes and wife Michelle Hanes, Gregg Baecht all of Trenton MO. Son Bryan Townsend and wife Amy Townsend of Joplin MO, daughter Nicole Fenton and husband Bryan Fenton of Shawnee KS, 3 granddaughters Sofia and Tara Townsend, Abigail Fenton, 2 grandsons Daniel Fenton and Xander Townsend & numerous nieces and nephews.  

There will be a memorial service at Resthaven Mortuary at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 2nd, 2016.  A visitation will be held from 1:00p.m. until the service time Saturday.   Memorial donations are suggested to the Love Food Pantry and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.   Online condolences may be left at whitakereads.com

Lonna was very passionate about helping other people and very devoted and loving towards her family and friends.
