Geraldine Vivian Long, 96, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial to follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Blythedale, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials and contributions are suggested to the Cedar Hill Cemetery or the Trenton Church of the Nazarene and can be mailed to the funeral home, 813 Custer, Trenton, Missouri 64683.
Geraldine was born on December 29, 1918 in Saline, Missouri to Creed and Tacy (Peterson) Helton. She attended schools in Mercer and Harrison County schools. On February 23, 1935, she married Gerald Long in Princeton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 21, 1977. They lived near Cainsville until they moved to Trenton in 1951.
She was a member of the Trenton Church of The Nazarene and the Royal Neighbors of America. Sew enjoyed sewing, making cookies, riding horses, and walking.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Leland Earl Long; daughter, Tacy Arlene Spickard ; and brothers, Arthur Helton, Martin Helton, Elza Lee Helton, and Garland Helton.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter Margorie Spencer and husband Neil of Browning, MO; her grandchildren, George Spickard of Savannah, MO, Teresa Spencer of St. Peters, MO, Leann Long of Tucson, AZ, Jim Spencer of Milan, MO, Elizabeth Chicote and husband Jason of Frisco, TX, and Sarah Chase and husband Lester of Jacksonville, NC; step granddaughter, Melinda Kimmis and husband Brad of Chillicothe, MO; and seven great grandchildren.
