Linda Marie Douglas, 88, passed away at 4:45 PM on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Rural Dale Cemetery, east of Trenton. Open visitation will begin at noon Friday at Resthaven. Memorial contributions are suggested to 10th Street Baptist Church or Rural Dale Cemetery and can be mailed to the funeral home at PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
Linda was born on September 2, 1926 in the Coon Creek community in rural Grundy County, MO to Loren and Minnie Gott. She was united in marriage to C.W. Douglas on September 17, 1944. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2003. Together they had five children. After spending a couple of years in California, they moved to Laredo, MO where they resided for 25 years. They purchased the Douglas Service Station, which remained in business for 13 years. They moved to Trenton, MO after moving from Laredo. Linda was also a member of 10th Street Baptist Church in Trenton.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.W.; her twin sons, Darrell Eugene and Donald Dean Douglas; daughter, Glenda Kay Scott; and her sister, Mary Lee Goldsby.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Wayne Douglas of St. Louis, MO and Larry Loren Douglas of Omaha, NE; son-in-law, Robert Scott of Ravenwood, MO; sister, Ethel McCully of Trenton; brothers, Charles Gott of Trenton and Bob Gott of Galt ; grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” Scott and wife Elaina, Linda Betlach and husband Rob, Natisha “Tisha” Roberts, Trent Scott and wife Amanda “Mandy”, Jefferey Loren Douglas and family, Jeremy Laine Douglas and family, Danielle Douglas, and Amy Wiedmaier and husband Michael; and 13 great grandchildren.
