Wanda M. Jones, 87 years old of Trenton, Missouri, passed away at 8:43 p.m., October 27, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2014 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery, north of Osgood, Missouri.  Open visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Union Grove Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Resthaven Mortuary, P.O. Wanda M. Jones was born May 24, 1927 in Osgood, Missouri to Samuel Dow and Nancy Margaret ”Maggie” (Humphreys) Meeker.  She lived in Osgood until she was united in marriage to Gerald F. Jones on March 19, 1946 and they moved to Knoxville, Iowa.  After Gerald’s retirement in 1974 they moved back to Galt, Missouri until his death.  Shortly after Gerald’s death, Wanda moved to Melcher, Iowa.  In 2008 she moved to Trenton, Missouri to reside with her niece Patty Murphy and her husband Danny.  She was a member of the Galt Christian Church.

Surviving relatives include her sons Jerry Jones and his wife Susan of Tama, Iowa and Larry Jones and his wife Deb of Osceola, Iowa, three grandchildren John Jones of Toledo, Iowa, Larry Dow Jones and his wife Sue of Roscoe, Illinois, and Deanne Smith and her husband George of Osceola, Iowa and 6 great grandchildren Geo and Kacie Smith and Brianna, Kirsten, Connor and Brooke Jones.

Those preceding her in death include her parents, her husband, Gerald, a companion Harlan Muse.  Brothers: Alvia “Doc” Meeker, Vaughn Meeker and Eursie Meeker; Sisters: Violet Jones, Vera Ireland, Martha Glidewell, Ina Hamilton and Eula Cooper;  Half-brothers, Setha and Sammie Meeker;  Half-sisters Ethel Burress, Goldie Humphreys and Mary Humphreys, and a Daughter-in-Law, Mary Ruth Jones.
