Cynthia Kay Mathern, 52, of Trenton, passed away at 11:35 AM on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
The body was cremated. Memorial services are scheduled for 6:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help pay for funeral expenses or the Green Hills Animal Shelter of Trenton.
Cynthia was born on May 10, 1962 in suburban Los Angeles, California to Jim and Elaine Chamberlain. She graduated from Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills, CA. where she played softball and was Honor Queen of Jobe’s Daughters. On May 30, 1998 she was united in marriage to Ronald Mathern in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Cynthia was a RN and worked at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA, Regents Points in Irvine, CA, and at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, MO. She liked going camping and fishing, making arts and crafts, and cooking. She loved singing to her cats and helping any animal in need.
Survivors include her husband Ron Mathern; daughters Amanda Kilts and Cassandra Mathern; son Corey Kilts and girlfriend Ashley Covey; granddaughter Ava Kilts; brother Kenneth Chamberlain and wife Connie; and nephew James Chamberlain, all of Trenton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents Richard and Edith Powell and Kenneth G. and Hazel Chamberlain; uncles Randy McVay and Chuck Powell.
