Blair Hollingsworth, a 42 year old Trenton resident passed away at 8:35 a.m., Wednesday, May 07, 2014 at his residence.
His body is to be cremated. There will be a visitation from 2:30 until 4:00 Saturday afternoon at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. An Elk’s Lodge ceremony will be held at the end of the visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Walnut Grove Cemetery at Paris, MO. The family asked that flowers not be sent instead Memorial donations are suggested to the Candlelighters Organization or the Ronald McDonald House and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
Blair Travis Hollingsworth was born September 15, 1971 in Mexico, MO to Paul and Vicki (Jones) Hollingsworth. They moved to Trenton in 1982 and he graduated from Trenton High School the class of 1990. Blair was very active with the Trenton Elk’s Lodge #801 holding many offices and currently holding the office of 1st year trustee where he enjoyed spending a lot of his time and being part of the organization . He also enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing as well as spending time with his niece and nephews. Blair was known for his positive attitude despite having been diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of five and a life long battle with cancer and brain tumors. His contagious smile and personality found him to always be in a room of friends. Blair’s positive effect on everyone whom he encountered will live on within all of us.
Surviving relatives include his parents Paul and Vicki of Trenton, a sister Celeste Hignutt and her husband Heath of Trenton, brothers Chance Hollingsworth and his wife Melissa and Casey Hollingsworth and his fiancé Tasha both of St. Joseph, Maternal grandparents Roy and Barbara Jones of Paris, MO, a step paternal grandmother Judy Hollingsworth of Paris, MO, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews and friends.
Those preceding him in death include his paternal grandparents Lynn and Mary Hollingsworth and an uncle Gary Hollingsworth.
