Rebekah R. Whiteaker, an 82 year old resident of Fulton, MO and former Trenton, MO resident passed away at 3:50 PM Monday October 4, 2010 at the Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton. She had been residing at the Presbyterian Manor in Fulton since October 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Trenton, MO. There is no visitation planned at the Resthaven Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Trenton. Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to either the NCMC College Athletic Scholarship Fund or the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Whiteaker was born on January 7, 1928 at Pilot Grove, MO the daughter of Hubert Joseph and Ruth Nancy Heidtman Meyer. She was raised at Pilot Grove, MO and graduated from high school there and then attended Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg, MO. On August 11, 1948 she was married to Mark E. Whiteaker at Greeley, CO. He preceded her dying on April 17, 2005. After their marriage they lived at Princeton and Maysville before moving to Trenton in 1953.
She belonged to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the St. Ann’s Alter Society and had served for 8 years on the Jewitt Norris Library Board.
Mrs. Whiteaker is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Dorothy Meyer of Fulton, MO and a sister-in-law, Margaret Carson of Maysville, MO. Also surviving are five nephews and four nieces, Matthew, Michael and Mark Meyer and James and John Carson and Nancy Bledsoe, Peggy Brady, Sue Ellen McFee and Mary Jane Hower and by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
