Chillicothe resident and former Trenton resident, 92 year old Ruth Katheryn Morris, passed away at North Kansas City Hospice on Tuesday, October 22, 2013.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2013 at Whitaker Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.  Burial will follow in the Shelburne Cemetery South of Trenton.  A visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested in Lieu of flowers to the Shelburne Cemetery and may be mailed or left with the funeral home.  The family will be receiving guests at the house of Katheryn Pilcher in Trenton.
Ruth Katheryn Morris was born, September 29, 1921 in Livingston County, MO to B.F. “Frank” and Ora (Clinkenbeard) Clingingsmith and she lived her entire life in Grundy and Livingston counties.  On July 3, 1939 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Morris in Brimson, MO.  Together they enjoyed traveling and attending auctions.  He preceded her in death on July 22, 1996.  Ruth worked for Trenton Foods in Trenton retiring in 1986.  Ruth especially enjoyed spending time and rock hunting with her grandchildren, and she was a collector of porcelain dolls.  At holiday time, she would make everyone their favorite pie.
Survivors include her daughters, Katheryn Lea Pilcher of Trenton, Barbara Louise Stith and husband Larry of Chillicothe, MO; a son, Larry Dewayne Morris and wife, Lucinda of Perkasie, PA; and brother in law Richard Morris, and wife Sally of Trenton, four grandchildren Michael Pilcher, Pamela Pilcher Thorne, Michelle Stith Kieffer, and Teresa Stith, 8 great grandchildren; Jenny Pilcher Maxey, Rachel Pilcher Huston, Kelly Pilcher Stevenson, Kari Pilcher Miller, Daniel Thorne, Anna Thorne, Amber Kieffer Ballard and Alicia Kieffer and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, 3 brothers Alfred, Clarence and Arthur Clingingsmith, 4 sisters Bertha Brewer, Frances Whitney, Mary Bennett, and Mildred Lundeen, and a son-in-law Vernon Pilcher.
