Harold “Dick” Reid, a 73 year old Trenton, MO resident, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2010 at his residence under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton.  Bro. Marty Harkey will officiate.  Burial will be in the Ricketts cemetery near Chula followed by military graveside rites.  A scheduled visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

He was a member of the Major Dale Stepp American Legion Post #31 and the International Union of Operating Engineers local 101.

Mr. Reid was born on April 27, 1937 Rockville, IN the son of Harold and Grace (Norris) Reid.  He served in the U.S. Army, serving in the 10th Mountain Division in Germany.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by a son, Steve Reid and his wife, Lisa of Gallatin, MO; a daughter, Debbie Begley and her husband, Robert of Trenton, MO; a step daughter, Donna Campbell and her husband, Ed of Honalulu, HI; a sister, Delores Bowker of Denver, CO; a brother, Darrell Reid of  Texas; a nephew, Richard Reid of Lincoln, NE; 8 grandchildren, Carla Seibuhr, Willie Tunnell Mary Tunnell, Mitchell Begley, Stacy Craig, Jonathan Craig, Christopher Craig, and Melissa Craig; and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Reid.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wright Memorial Hospice or the North 65 Center.
