Clydella L. Sandefur a 96 year old former Harris, MO resident, passed away at 11:01 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Newtown Christian Church in Newtown, MO.  Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 Thursday evening at Payne Funeral Home of Galt.
Clydella Sandefur was born September 17, 1916 in Harris, MO to Clyde Elmer and Donna Olive (Cheuvront) Fairley. On July 4th, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ernest L. Sandefur. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1986.  Mrs. Sandefur had worked at the Harris Bank as well as doing accounting and bookwork for a number of people.  She also owned and operated the Harris Drug Store.  She was also was active with the Harris Housing Board holding many positions, as a 4H Leader, with the Harris Christian Church which she belonged to, and was a member of D.A.R.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda K. May and husband Keith of Milan, and a son, Delbert Sandefur of Trenton, MO, grandchildren Chad May and his wife Rachel of Lee’s Summit and Jennifer May and her companion Patrick Moore of Rolla, MO, and a great grandson Christian Taylor.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, husband, and sisters Gail Williams and Mary Helen Diggs.
