Richard Byron Allen, a 53-year-old resident of Galt, died at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery near Osgood.
A visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.
Mr. Allen was born July 30, 1959 in Chillicothe, the son of Charles Robert and Sharon Little Allen. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1977 and then obtained an associate degree in agricultural business from Trenton Junior College. He was married at Osgood on June 26, 1983 to Cindy Wendt.
He spent most of his life farming in the Laredo and Osgood area as well as working as a sales representative for Bond Wholesale. As a hobby he enjoyed dirt track modified racing as well as riding four-wheelers and spending time with his family. He was a loving son, husband, and father that will be greatly missed.
Surviving relatives include his wife Cindy of Galt; his mother, Sharon Allen of Trenton; a daughter, Whitney Bingham and her husband, Jonathan of Laredo; a brother, Mark Allen of Trenton; his mother-in-law, Thomacine Wendt of Osgood; and a close friend that was considered a daughter, Bailey Jo Brown;and numerous aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; his father-in-law, Gayle Wendt; maternal grandparents, Elmo and Kathleen Little; and paternal grandparents, Virgil Allen and Mildred and Gail Cutsinger.
Memorial donations may be made to the Union Grove Cemetery and left with the funeral home.
