Bill Cox, a 67 year old Trenton resident, passed away at 5:45 P.M. on Monday, November 05, 2012 at his home where he was under hospice care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Resthaven Mortuary at Trenton. General visitation will begin after noon Thursday at the mortuary. A scheduled family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be left to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at P.O.Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
Mr. Cox was born on April 5, 1945 at Trenton, MO the son of William Eldon (Poosey) and Nina Belle Collins Cox. He moved with his family to Jamesport in 1960. He graduated from Jamesport High School. He served briefly in the United States Navy. He was married to Dixie Pease on August 22, 1977 at Galt, MO. Over the years Mr. Cox was employed as the City Marshall at Jamesport, Trenton Foods and had worked for several years for the Missouri Department of Transportation.
He belonged to the Jamesport Baptist Church.
Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Dixie Cox of the home; a daughter, Jamie Wells and her companion, Jonathon Nolan of Chillicothe, MO; a sister, Linda Eads and her husband, Tom of Trenton, MO; and grandson, Braxton Nolan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
